David Hutchison is a filmmaker and artist. His first TV commission was to create the short animation Cearc Agus Ubh (Chicken and Egg) for Scottish Television. He then went on to create backgrounds & props for animated TV series Uruisg Na H'alba (The Scottish Brownies). He transferred his traditional skills to digital at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee and spent several years freelancing as a digital designer,teaching classes in digital imaging and exhibiting sculpture, painting and video work, winning the Pocketshort Award at Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2006 with short Zombie Lick and in 2008 with interactive animation tasseomancer Taffa, the Leith Agency award for Carousel and Tartan Oscar Award for Kitsch. He then experimented with interactive bilingual (Gaelic and English) web series SeordagTV and wrote the children's adventure story Storm Hags.
In 2010 David did a MA in Screenwriting and went on to produce the award-winning feature film: Graders. Since then he has produced many shorts and had several exhibitions. He also worked at Edinburgh Napier University creating interactive videos and filming masterclasses for Screen Academy Scotland. In 2017 he released his latest feature Baobhan Sith.
David is currently developing Doctresses, a feature and TV series project inspired by the first women doctors in the UK, and also comedy/crime feature Kore.
